Just little notes http://syaifudin.posterous.com Catatan kecil dari seberang posterous.com Tue, 04 May 2010 04:36:00 -0700 SET OUT ON ULUWATU JOURNEY AT NOON http://syaifudin.posterous.com/set-out-on-uluwatu-journey-at-noon http://syaifudin.posterous.com/set-out-on-uluwatu-journey-at-noon

About 45 minutes from Nusa Dua, or 1 hr 15 minutes from Kuta or Tuban area. From Nusa Dua, the hilly road will pass through Pecatu, (in)famous for its uncompleted monument and luxury homes. If you are from Kuta, similar hill climbing road through Kedodongan and Jimbaran Hills (and Bay) will bring you here.

Description:
Officially known as Pura Luhur Uluwatu (yes, that's the real name: "Luhur" means "something of divine origin" while "Uluwatu" can be broken into "ulu" which means "land's end" and "watu" means "rock" in the old language). Nonetheless, merely mentioning Uluwatu will get you here in no time.

To me, this is the most spectacular temple on the island of Bali. The inner sanctum of the pura is perched majestically on the edge of a steep cliff that towers above the legendary surf breaks of southern Bali.

While I'm not too sure what the view is like from within the inner temple itself, the views are best enjoyed on two different vantage points on both northern and southern portions of the area.

I try not to mention much about the monkeys here. Precautionary signs have been put at a few places to remind about their aggressiveness. I did not experience any bad incidents with them, but I did take off my sunglasses and hid my camera in my pocket, just in case. At sunset, Kecak dance performance is held here everyday. And, it goes without saying that sunset viewing at Uluwatu is one of the must-do in Bali.

Pura Luhur Uluwatu is regarded as one of the six most important temples in Bali (along with Pura Besakih, of course!). Its location on the south westernmost precinct of this magical island guards the Balinese from the evil spirit of the ocean.

There is a minimal entrance fee to enter. I'm not particularly sure about the need to have a "local guide" to explore the pura just like what I have experienced in Pura Besakih. Sarongs are available for rental at the entrance. It was indeed a hassle free experience for me. And the view is out of this world.

the above description is one of the explanation of the Uluwatu Puri that i COPAS ( it means copy paste, a slang word that usually indonesian people use to copy paste the article from other source)  from wikipedia. yesterday i had a gorgeous moment with people from Thailand who has a tour packet to visit Uluwatu. uluwatu has many good - looking views and nicest spot for having a fresh air and take off the life's burden.

Foto_ke

above picture is the first gate when you will enter  the uluwatu garden. sorry about the picture that little bit blur because i took it in hurry when my friend was take my hand to walked inside. watch your back if you would like to enter this gate, because usually there will be a naughty monkey will grab and scratching anything in your body including glasses, necklace, earing, hat and other jewelerry you have. so keep those things in your hand bag, make sure you take off the jewelerry in your body before entering uluwatu garden.

Foto_ke

this is what was going on inside after we entering that gate. look glummy, was'nt it ? yup, because the cloud was gloomy and it was drizzling. this  was exactly happened at 4.30 pm, the uluwatu puri from this way is still 1 Km remaining, and you must walk along 1 km away on foot. but you will have a great view around the way, in the left side is wild grass with the rare tree and in the right side is ravine with a tight bank and you will have a fresh sea air by looking at in the right side, but watch your step once again becaue there are so many wild monkeys settle down on the branch of the tree.

Foto_ke
very crowded! there are many people visit this place... that was my friend from jember who wear the veil.

Foto_ke
this is parking area. you can park your car here and usualy it is charged for about 2 thouand rupiah or more.

Foto_ke
that was my friend from Timor Leste, he looks like a rounder girl in boxing right? (LOL) you can see some foreigner use umberella to avoid the pourring rain.

Foto_ke
this is the way to reach out the valley of uluwatu puri..... beautiful garden in drizzling moment!!!!! hmmmm.... i want to get back  here again hehhee...

Foto_ke
watch your step.... couse it is little bit slippery.... you must walk very slowly in every steping stone to avoid the mud coused by the rain.

Foto_ke
the weather was unfriendly but it didn't make our curiousity faded away.

Foto_ke
watch out that cool monkey settle down on the edge of the roof !

Foto_ke
this is mountain side, i took the picture from approximately 170 km high from the surface of the sea.

Foto_ke
monkey speechs (lol), you see what he holds ? that is the visitor's glasses, he usually wears it and sometimes plays with it.

Foto_ke
this is a stair way to reach the main Holly Puri, you will hike approximately 50 meters away to reach the top.

Foto_ke
gorgeous sun shine pass through the gray cloud.

Foto_ke
deep abyss

Foto_ke
a friend from Thailand, wearing a red cute hat. ( kadang kadang main lirik lirikan gitu heheh)

Foto_ke
this is the Main Puri. the visitor can not enter to the inside couse this is a holly site.

Foto_ke
do not enter! for the worship only.

Foto_ke
look traditional ceremony, but i wasn't sure at all, it could be "ngaben" ceremonial (before zoom)
Foto_ke
the scene after the zoom.

Foto_ke

the ceremonial from the far away view.

Foto_ke
many wild cool monkeys hang around over the fence which protected the visitor from the mountain side, always remember to avoid walk thru the edge of the valley becasue the stepping way is quite slippery when the rain is happened.

Foto_ke
do you see those two foreigners ? don't try to do that again, it is very dangerous to walk along the edge of the mountain side.

And we should went home after all........

ok. that's all from me and i will post my experience trip in bali by other opportunity. Cherio.....

Sun, 02 May 2010 00:06:09 -0700 MY EXPERIENCE IN BALI http://syaifudin.posterous.com/my-experience-in-bali http://syaifudin.posterous.com/my-experience-in-bali I have spent more than 2 weeks in Denpasar and find out many
experiences and beauty scenes in every gorgeous spot i go. One thing
that makes me proud of this island is the culture and the religius
side that they always carry out everyday. I am not all alone here, i
and my friend from timor leste have explored the island by hiring a
rent car karimun cost 150 ribu per day without gasoline.. .

For the first time i went to tanah lot, a gorgeous pura that was
located on the edge of the coast with a high tide and huge surf
hitting the coral. Many people take a picture of beauty view or just
hang around enjoying the refresh air, if you walk thru the side walk
along the way into the tanah lot puri, you will find a gorgeous carved
gate 15 meter high and a flat monument that was signed by Megawati as
the president at that time. Before entering the gate, you will find
many ornaments store and souvenir store with the various charge, but i
suggest that you must bargain it first before pay it, normally the
shop keeper increasing the normal cost for about 5 until 10 thousand.
So if you would like to buy a bali cloth or sarong with the charge 30
ribu, it is usually 20 ribu rupiah at normal price, but sometimes the
shop keeper never told you about the bargain charge until you ask to
decrease the cost first. As my experience, tanah lot was quite hot at
the mid day, so prepare the sun block or softdrink and black glasses
to avoid the hot sun. Oh ya, i forgot to tell you about the entrench
fare, usually the charge is 5 thousand per pax or per person and 10
thousand for car, it is not valid when peak season where the fare
probably higher than usual. But if you just go there by motorcycle,
you can park in far away from that entrench fare and walk thru 'black
way' or rat stepping way, it is free of charge but you must walk away
along 1 upto 3 Km away.
Following the next plan, i went to the sanur beach and checking my
time to grab the beauty panorama at noon, this is the best time to
spend the day for having fun and take a relax time for a moment. From
sanur i went to kuta, kuta is my last destination, even if the beach
is very crowded and nearby the highway, you will find a thousand of
motor cyle park along 1 upto 2 km away, and you will find dificulties
to park your vehicle sometimes, the charge for parking is 2 thausand.
Kuta beach is a beauty beach with a sparkling white sandy beach and
there are many foreigners have a leisure here, but lately the beach is
'quite dirty' cuz there are many poor fishes cast away on the edge of
the coast and it comes up a disgusting smell, i took a picture of it
and i wrote a 'help words' above the fish, sound funny right?.

There was a picture i and my friend were sitting in the simple 'gubuk'
near the stepping way. That was the time we were trapped when the rain
occured. Near the gubuk are places of travel counter where many
tourists book an itinerary and hotels.

Here are some pictures that may be can explain many things 'bout my
experience and a good reference for you to go there.

Tue, 27 Apr 2010 21:52:00 -0700 COWBOYS IN PARADISE review http://syaifudin.posterous.com/cowboys-in-paradise-review http://syaifudin.posterous.com/cowboys-in-paradise-review

Each year, thousands of women travel to
Bali in search of paradise. And many find
it in the arms of Kuta Cowboys. Masters at
peddling holiday romance, these bronzed
beach ambassadors have made Bali one
of the world ’s leading destinations for
female sex tourists.
COWBOYS IN PARADISE is an independent
feature documentary that gets between
the sheets of Bali ’s male sex trade.
Using a series of startling, and often
hilarious confessions, the film reveals
some of the island ’s most closely-
guarded secrets. Why don’t the boys
charge for sex? How then do women
compensate them? Where do time
management skills fit into all this? And
how does a Cowboy ’s family feel about
his errant ways?
The film also charts the typical trajectory
of a Cowboy ’s life, from entry into
beach life to his reign at the top of the
tourist-industry chain, before following
his heartbreaking descent into
obsolescence. By the end, the myth of
paradise is shattered and the viewer is
presented with a more realistic
proposition: Paradise is always
elsewhere.

Oh ya kalo ngak ngertos bahasa inggris, bisa pake google translate atau toggletext.com. Untuk liat trailernya silhkan cek dibawah. sebetulnya film ini udah lama digarap diketahui dari upload filmnya setahun lalu. tapi Kemarin gw sempat tanya ke teman  katanya DVD nya belum realease yak?

Fri, 26 Mar 2010 22:27:05 -0700 BEMO PALING GOKIL DI INDONESIA http://syaifudin.posterous.com/bemo-paling-gokil-di-indonesia http://syaifudin.posterous.com/bemo-paling-gokil-di-indonesia Mungkin anda
pernah melihat sebuah acara di MTV “Pimp My Ride”, sebuah reality show yang
mengubah mimpi seseorang dengan mobil bututnya sehingga mobil sang
pemilik menjadi

ingin turun ditempat tujuan mereka.
